You might have noticed:
And if you’re honest with yourself…
• You’ve tried talking things through
• You’ve tried breathing or relaxation techniques
• You’ve tried to think more positively
• You may have tried counselling or talk therapy
And in many ways, those things can help…
But sometimes, even when you understand your anxiety, you can still find yourself reacting in the same old ways.
That’s because knowing what’s happening and changing an automatic pattern aren’t always the same thing.
And when those patterns keep running — the anxiety can keep coming back
Over the years, I’ve noticed that anxiety rarely exists in isolation. There are often patterns in the way people think, respond and cope that can keep it going.
– Expecting something to go wrong
– Overthinking and worrying
– Avoiding things that feel uncomfortable
– Needing certainty or control
– Fear of judgement
– Perfectionism and putting pressure on yourself
And often, people know they’re doing these things — they just don’t know how to stop.
First, we identify the patterns that may be keeping your anxiety going. Because it’s difficult to change something when you can’t see what’s happening.
This is the part that can be difficult to do on your own. We work with the automatic patterns behind how you think, feel and respond — not just what you consciously know.
As the old patterns begin to shift, we practise different ways of responding — so they become easier and more natural to use in everyday life.
Anxiety can be kept going by patterns in how we think, respond and cope. When those patterns begin to change, the way you respond to anxiety can begin to change too.
Genetics can play a part in our vulnerability to anxiety — but they are only part of the picture.
Stressful or difficult experiences can influence how we learn to respond to situations, people and uncertainty.
Over time, we can develop automatic patterns — worrying, avoiding, expecting the worst, needing control or fearing judgement.
The good news is that patterns aren't necessarily fixed. By recognising them, we can begin learning different ways to respond.

Recently finished my course of hypnotherapy with Anne and what a journey it was! Anne opened up parts of my conscious experience I didn't know existed. Anne has a gift for touching on parts of your character that are holding you back. You need to commit to this, long-term. It's not a 'click of the finger' thing that you might expect. Wanna change your life?? Its all down to you. Thank you Anne :)Posted on Google Maree ColeTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Anne is an amazing healer with deep understanding, empathy and compassion. This is my 3rd time back with Anne dealing with different issues and Anne’s technique works really well. Her spiritual, emotional, physical guidance goes deep and works instantly. I recommend her highly . Anne is a healer who you can really trust.Posted on Google Chelsea KleinTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. I am so disappointed with Anne. I had such high hopes at the beginning but the hypnosis did absolutely nothing. I am still crippled with severe anxiety and cannot function in my life. At the start Anne was nice but her attitude towards me changed and became negative once I told her the hypnosis had no impact. I have changed my name to protect my privacy. Edit: I explained that I changed my name for privacy reasons. This is no fake experience.Posted on Google Deanna PhillipsTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. To say Anne has changed my life is an understatement. This is the way to heal and move forward from trauma and limitations. Best thing i have done for myself and my loved ones. I have quite severe anxiety at times and was very stressed and anxious about the impending arrival of my second child. I have never used hypnotherapy before and was unsure about it but thought it was worth a try! I’m so glad I did! Anne was calm and friendly, and eased my anxiety from the start by explaining hypnotherapy, what it is and how it works etc, to put my mind at ease. The sessions were super helpful and she taught me ways to manage my anxiety down the line as well. Definitely worth it. Thankyou Anne!Posted on Google Donna WheelerTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Just completed my fourth session with Anne... What an absolutely incredible experience. Just as I think it can't get any better, or I can't possibly feel any lighter in my heart and soul, here I go again! She has helped me to transform the way that I view myself and life itself, elevating me in ways that I didn't even know I needed to be elevated. Right from the start, Anne understood exactly what I needed and tailored my wonderful sessions to my exact needs. She is such a beautiful human, who radiates understanding, depth and knowledge. I am so grateful for her.Posted on Google Zoe GloverTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. The sessions I had with Anne have benefited me so much! There's a lightness in my energy and mind now. The things we visualised I created and I'm very happy with the new connections I have manifested into my life. Anne helped me to bring forth my inner knowing which has brought me peace.Posted on Google mia wardTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Anne is a wonderful practitioner. She made me feel comfortable and I enjoyed our session . I’d highly recommend!Posted on Google Debbie NealTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. I cannot speak highly enough of Anne. After suffering severe insomnia for 3 months, and already having tried different avenues, I decided to make an appointment with Anne. From the moment I spoke to her via phone, and then after meeting up with her, I knew that I'd made a good decision by seeing her. Anne is very professional as well as being very empathetic and intuitive. I must say that her lilting Irish accent was an added bonus when listening to her tapes. If I do have a rare night of being unable to sleep, I immediately play Anne's tape, and before I know it, I've drifted off to sleep. Anne truly is one amazing and sincere lady. Thankyou Anne...Debbie ♥️Posted on Google Jayne SouthgateTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. You’ve spent more than 10 years helping people understand and work through anxiety, and the patterns that can keep it going.
I know this personally too. I experienced anxiety myself for years, so I understand how much it can affect the way you think, feel, behave and live your life.
And one thing I’ve learned — both personally and through years of working with anxiety — is that simply knowing why you feel anxious doesn’t always change how you respond.
You can know you’re overthinking. You can know the fear doesn’t make sense. You can tell yourself to stop worrying — and still feel anxious.
That’s why my approach focuses on identifying and changing the patterns that may be keeping anxiety going.
Because when those patterns begin to change, you can begin responding differently too.

Surviving to Thriving came out of more than a decade of working with people who’d tried everything on the surface and still felt stuck. What changed things was never more willpower or more talking — it was working with the unconscious mind, and the patterns running underneath.
That same understanding continues to shape the way I work with anxiety today — looking beyond the symptoms to understand and change the patterns that may be keeping them going.
Understand the patterns that may be keeping anxiety going — and why knowing what’s happening isn’t always enough to change it.
